Cecilia and Her Rosary

Container week was so busy that I really haven't had a chance to write but I will try to make up for it this week before my trip to Italy. On a completely different note, we went to a friend's First Communion on Saturday and Doug was the official photographer. Cecilia picked out this beautiful fuschia dress at our favorite Spanish children's boutique, Peter Pan. I loved it too because it is so different from the usual little girls' dresses. She refused to let her father photograph her so he got this shot from the back. We all loved how it came out. Just something special about it.

Sometimes the most incredible photos come from the simplest gestures. I have an amazing shot of a niece who is quietly sitting under a table. The light was perfect, the colours all were in synch and her expression showed that she was really far, far away.

This picture reminds me of a world where (when) no none thought it irreverent to pray anywhere at a anytime. Religion was so internalized that if cooking, a soft-boiled egg was one Hail Mary long, hard-boiled three Hail Marys,..then some found that irreverent and the result has been that after cooking by the clock, there's no time for a prayer.
A child can pray and play. Let a great photographer capture it!
